It’s been a huge month at ECS. We can’t speak more highly of our team who have been managing projects all over the country. From Gladstone QLD to Broome WA to Mt Gambier SA. It certainly feels like we’ve racked up a few frequent flyer points.
As of the 1 October 2018, amendments to the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) law will commence under the HVNL (Heavy Vehicle National Law). These changes will align the existing laws more closely with workplace health and safety provisions.
Under the new legislative regime, ALL parties in the chain will have a duty to eliminate or reduce risks, “so far as is reasonably practicable”, to ensure the safety of any transport tasks.
In short, these changes affect ALL of us. If you or your business send or receive goods using a Heavy Vehicle with a gross mass of more than 4.5 tonnes, you become part of the supply chain.
